So what does the Initial Tune-up include?

1. Update or Install Anti-virus Software and do a scan to remove harmful viruses that can bring your pc to its knees (if it had knees). It will be configured to keep your PC protected even after we leave but we are always only an email or phone call away.
2. Update or Install Spyware/Adware removal software - We will update your existing software or install new software if you do not have any and then perform a scan to remove the violators. It's very important just as with Anti-virus to keep the software upto date for maximum protection.
3. Update drivers and key software - Avoid problems, add functionality, and improve system performance by updating to the most current software and drivers installed.
4. Clean up the registry - The registry is thepart of your computer that needs to be accessed every time that you want your computer to perform an action. Over time invalid key entries are placed into the registry. Think of it as storing a lot of useless information and eventually all of that useless information or entries get in the way of your computer’s performance.
5. Defragment the Harddrive - Defragmenting your hard drive is not as hard as it sounds and improves your computer's performance. As you install and uninstall programs, data becomes scattered across your hard drive. As a result your computer takes longer to find the correct data, degrading performance. Think of its as Spring cleaning.
6. Devise a backup plan - A virus or adware could wipe out data without any chance of recovery. We help you devise a strategy for backing up your files now. Any important data that you do not want to lose should be backed up regularly. This can be done in any of a number of ways. Simply write the files to second harddrive, a USB drive, a CD-R or and on-line solution. Taking pictures of your screen with your camera does not work.
7. Create a Restore Point - Creating a system restore point lets you go back in time to before your computer encountered a problem. No, its not time travel, but close.
8. Assign you weekly and monthly homework to keep your PC clean and running clean.
